What Is Server-Side Tracking?

Server-side tracking sends events directly from the Trackify server to the advertising platform instead of relying only on the browser event.

For example, when a Shopify order is placed:

  • A browser event may fire from the customer’s device

  • A server-side event is sent securely from Trackify’s server

Both events contain the same event ID, allowing platforms like Facebook or TikTok to de-duplicate them automatically.

How Server-Side Events Work in Trackify

Trackify sends both browser and server events for the same action (like Purchase).
Ad platforms detect duplicate event IDs and count only one final conversion, ensuring:

  • No double counting

  • Maximum data reliability

Method 1: Enable Server-Side API (Normal Method – Login)

This is the recommended and easiest method when your Facebook account is connected to Trackify.

Steps

  1. Open Trackify → Facebook section

  2. Log in with your Facebook account

  3. Go to Tracking Pixel

  4. Select the checkbox for the pixel you want to enable SS API for

  5. Click the three-dot (⋮) More Actions button on the right

  6. Click Enable SS API

✅ That’s it!

Server-side tracking is now automatically enabled, and Trackify handles everything in the background.

When to Use This Method

  • You have Facebook account access

  • Your pixel is connected via Facebook login

  • You want a fast, error-free setup

Method 2: Enable Server-Side API (Manual Method – Access Token)

Use this method if:

  • You cannot log in with Facebook

  • You are using TikTok or Snapchat

  • You prefer manual control over the setup

Step A: Open Pixel Settings in Trackify

  1. Go to Trackify → Facebook

  2. Select the pixel

  3. Click the three-dot (⋮) More Actions

  4. Click Edit Pixel

Step B: Enable Server-Side API in Trackify

  1. In the Edit Pixel screen:

    • Enable the Server-Side API option

  2. Locate the Access Token field

  3. Keep this page open

Step C: Generate Access Token in Event Manager

For Facebook:

  1. Open Facebook Events Manager

  2. Go to Data Sources

  3. Select your Pixel

  4. Open Settings

  5. Scroll to Conversions API

  6. Click Set up direct integration

  7. Click Generate Access Token

  8. Copy the token

Step D: Save the Token in Trackify

  1. Paste the copied token into the Access Token field in Trackify

  2. Click Save / Update Pixel

⚠️ Important Note:
Access tokens are hidden for security.

  • Leave the field blank if you don’t want to change the existing token

  • Re-enter only if you want to update it
