Method 1 (Preferred): Test Events Using Meta Pixel Helper in Incognito Mode

This is the most reliable method to test browser events because it avoids interference from browser cache, cookies, and extensions.

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Open your browser (Chrome recommended).

  2. Click on the three-dot menu (top-right corner).

  3. Go to Extensions โ†’ Manage extensions.

  4. Find Meta Pixel Helper and click Details.

  5. Enable Allow in Incognito.

  6. Click the three-dot menu again.

  7. Select New Incognito Window.

  8. Open your store URL in the incognito window.

  9. Use the Meta Pixel Helper extension to check fired events.

You can now perform actions such as:

  • Viewing a product

  • Adding a product to cart

  • Initiating checkout

The Pixel Helper will display all fired events in real time.

Why Use Incognito Mode?

Incognito mode ensures:

  • No browser cache interference

  • No stored cookies

  • No logged-in session conflicts

  • Cleaner and more accurate tracking results

Method 2: Test Events Using Trackify Live Pixel Traffic

Trackify provides a Live Pixel Traffic feature that allows you to monitor events (both server and browser events) directly from the dashboard.

Steps to Use Live Pixel Traffic

  1. Go to the Trackify Dashboard.

  2. Click on View Live Pixel Traffic.

  3. Select a time range (for example, Last 10 minutes).

  4. Visit your store and perform actions such as:

    • Product view

    • Add to Cart

    • Initiate Checkout

  5. Return to the Trackify dashboard.

What You Can See

  • Total events fired during the selected time range

  • Event-wise breakdown (ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, etc.)

  • Filters to view:

    • Browser events

    • Server events

    • Or both

  • A detailed event list with timestamps and event sources

Method 3: Test Events Using Facebook Events Manager (Test Events)

You can also test events using the Test Events section in Facebook Events Manager.

Steps to Test Events in Facebook Events Manager

  1. Go to Facebook Events Manager.

  2. Select your Pixel.

  3. Click on the Test Events tab.

  4. Under Test Browser Events, enter your store url.

  5. Open a new browser tab.

  6. Perform actions on your store such as:

    • Viewing products

    • Adding products to cart

    • Initiating checkout

  7. Return to the Test Events tab to check if events are appearing.

Why This Method Is Less Reliable

  • Browser cache and cookies may prevent events from displaying correctly

  • Events may fire properly but not appear in Test Events

  • Facebook UI delays or inconsistencies can cause confusion

Note About TrackifyXRetarget Events

If you see TrackifyXRetarget appearing multiple times in Test Events, please donโ€™t get confused.

  • This is a time on site event

  • It fires every second while a visitor stays on the page

  • It tracks how long a visitor is active on the page

  • It is not a standard conversion event

All standard events (ViewContent, AddToCart, Purchase, etc.) shows normally in the Test Events. If standard events do not appear properly in Test Events, it is likely a browser or cache-related issue.

In such cases, please verify tracking using Method 1 or Method 2.
